What are the different shipment methods?
RoRo Shipping: These are purpose built vessels for example a car park on water. vehicles are driven onto the ship via a Ramp and then parked securely with lashings so that they do not move during their voyage on the high seas. Cargo is safely secured underdeck and these vessels also support high and heavy cargo like trucks, heavy machinery, boats etc
Container Shipping: the most commonly known methods of shipments, 20 FT Containers hold one motor vehicle & 40 FT Containers hold two motor vehicles. There are specialized loading methods where more cars can be loaded however these need to be done professionally so you do not cause any damage.
Air Freight: The quickest method of shipment however also an expensive method for shipping. Shipping vehicles by Air means they are generally stored in the cargo holds of aeroplanes. This is the fastest but most expensive way of shipping.
What documents do i require to ship a car?
We generally require a copy of the UK Logbook as well as a filled booking form which can be done via our website.
These details then help us ensure we get the right information as well as process your shipment booking.
It is however important to note that you should also know the destination rules and regulations as sometimes pre-shipment inspections are needed – and the inspection certificates required to clear a vehicle.
In certain cases we shall also require a copy of the purchase invoice.
Where do you ship cars from?
Different destinations have different load ports, we however look for the closest port for you while ensuring the price is competitive and the schedule meets your requirement.
What taxes will i have to pay?
All taxes/clearance charges differ per destination and often returning residents are exempt from takes in certain counties. To check your taxes the best option would be to contact a clearing agent at your destined destination. I would recommend checking with more than one clearing agent. We may be able to assist in advising you a clearing agent upon request.
Are you able to arrange pre-shipment inspections?
